I’m Marco Soldano, from San Jose, CA.
My day job is engineering manager in golden Silicon Valley of sunny California.
I’ve been addicted to bikes since I was 4 and the bug seems to get stronger every year.
I ride and race mostly mountain bikes, currently with
Quadzilla Racing Team in Los Gatos, but I enjoy CX and road riding as well. My focus is in endurance events and epic rides.
2011 has been an awesome year for me, rode over 5k miles and climbed more than half a million feet. I was so lucky to race at the
Cascades Cream Puff 100 in Oakridge, OR, the
Leadville 100 in CO, and take part to the
Levi Leipheimer Gran Fondo in Santa Rosa with 6,000 fellow riders. Last but not least I joined with my team the
Turning Wheels for Kids, where we volunteered with other teams to build 2400 bikes for underprivileged kids
2012 promises to be even better, with many epic rides and endurance racing.
First week of February I will be riding with three friends from San Francisco to Los Angeles, along the coast, for a total of 500 miles in 5 days. This is going to be a minimalistic cycle touring in terms of gear, along the beautiful coastal route of California. With one month to go we are frenetically picking the right gear: I’ll be riding my spanking new On-One Dirty Disco and I can’t wait to hit the road.
